We are a group of students at the Islamic University in Madinah. This page was created in hopes of helping out prospective American students who want information about the university.
The official website for the University is http://www.IU.EDU.SA there you can find the address and the application form.
The age limit is 25 but there are exceptions to the rule. There are no fees in the university. If a student gets accepted he will be a full scholarship student. There is no set requirement for memorizing the Quran except for the faculty of the Quran. Students who do not speak Arabic will enroll in the Institue of Arabic Language upon acceptance. If you want to apply have all the required documents and come for a personal interview to increase your chances. The university currently only accepts male students.

The university as of now is only for males. There are plans to introduce a womens section. Currently, there are other opportunities for sisters to study in KSA such as Um Alqura university in Makkah.

The exception is that a revert/convert who is over the age limit is more likely to get accepted than someone who is born of Eastern linage.
Being a medical doctor has nothing to do with being accepted. You can still try and apply, there is nothing to lose. Just do not keep your hopes up because there is no guarantee that you will be accepted.

Please read https://madinahstudents.wordpress.com/2010/08/09/applying-to-university/
Please consider that getting accepted takes some time after you apply and it is not guaranteed.

Asalamu Aleykum ahki,
Firstly, I ask Allah to reward you for your tremendous efforts in assisting you Muslim brothers and sisters. This blog has been very beneficial for me, and for many others. With that said, I am planning on making Umrah this summer with my family Insha Allah, and would like to apply to Madinah University and Ummul Qura. I have heard that students who personally come to apply, are usually accepted; could you please tell me if this is true? Jazakhullah Khair.

That is right. There is no guarantee, but the chances are bigger when one comes in person to apply.

As salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu
My name is Saad Mommandi. I applied from the US and had a chance to go visit the university for an interview while visiting Saudi to make Hajj time last year. Unfortunately the majority of my documents were lost in the return due to a luggage mix up. I was wondering if the brothers who run this blog could put me in contact with someone (or do it themselves) who can ask a staff member for my application number for the sake of Allah. I see that it is required once admission is confirmed to see the next steps in going to study at the university.
If you need any proof of my identity, I can email a picture of my drivers license or such.
I applied as Sa’adullah Mommandi
(Saad like Saad ibn abi Waqqas, and Mommandi spelled Meem, Wow, Meem, Noon, daal, yaa)
May Allah reward you for your efforts.
As Salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatu

Asalamu alaikum Warahmatullah,
I hope all is well inshallah. Brother I live in Seattle, I studied at Jamia Islamia in 2005 for 6 months. I left due to a family emergency. I’ve been regretting that decision ever since. Anyways I’m coming to Madinah inshallah, hoping I’ll get another chance and I can present my case. I’d like to know when is your spring vacation? I wouldn’t want to come all the way and see that your offices are closed. Let me know inshallah.

I’m amazed, I have to admit. Rarely do I encounter a blog that’s equally educative
and entertaining, and without a doubt, you have hit the nail on the head.
The issue is something not enough men and women are speaking intelligently about.
Now i’m very happy I came across this in my search for something regarding this.

platform available right now. (from what I’ve read) Is that what you’re using on your blog?

A w wabarakatu dear brothers and sisters in Islam who had strongly desire to study there own religion in madina university., like Allah said “A person who follows a path for acquiring knowledge, Allah will make easy the passage to Paradise for him.”there for its very important and may Allah make it easy for all of us. However i will like to inform those who sake knowledge at madinah university its not the ONLY place to sake the knowledge, but i do understand peoples have there own places, idea, opinion, desire, etc… to go and study in different places so its your choose and i respect that, may Allah make it easy for you inshallah. keep in your mind those been accepted in madina university is 1 out of 1000 chance you have and i don,t mean to scary you let say even if u accepted, u have a chance 1 out of 50 chance for you to be fully successful in other word for you to go trough all paper application or process and do to luck of information, guidness, help, contact, language barer, and so for what to do , above all the Saudi government in general are the worst than anything u can imagine of this world in term of what i just mention few things dont take my words . I dare u to call any Saudi embassy simple ask them information about study in madinah. 1 out of 50 they will never respond your call even voice mail is full, subahnallah, i wonder if they even check the mail box so call and see for your self. I was so upset to the point i have to travel from Minnesota to Saudi embassy in virgina . My advise is simple see is believing u know why i have been going trough all this obsticale to the point where i lost my mind, Allah is my witness even those i have powerful family member doctors, professor, who had highest stutes in university of madina and mecca so see for yourself. Again keep in your mind im not here to discourage your from trying but just to give you little update of what is going on in really world period. Allah, the Almighty says, which means,
“And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.” (AI-Baqarah, 2:216)
so you need help contact me at kawomilki@yahoo.com barakallahu feeki!

I am an american student and I applied on November 16 2017 but completed my application somewhere at the end of December of 2017. My application status is still under consideration. What is your advice brother, should I reapply or wait for a while because I am afraid that my second application will nullify my first application as it says on their website.
May Allah(swt) bless you.
Plz I still havent reapplied yet.
